Lexington Medical Center is looking for an experienced Director of Nutrition Services to run a multi-unit operation. As the Director, you will be responsible for two (2) large patient kitchens, three (3) public cafeterias, a busy doctors' lounge, catering kitchen, meal preparation for our childcare center, as well as a Starbucks coffee kiosk in the hospital as well as one in our new University of South Carolina College of Nursing building, plus all services provided at our extended care facility. This position involves complete operational and financial responsibility. You will provide overall leadership for our team of four (4) Managers and one (1) Assistant Director. You’ll coach and train your team for operational excellence, recognize and motivate all employees to optimize retention and continue Lexington Medical Center’s exceptional culture. You will be responsible for planning, budgeting, patient and customer satisfaction ratings as well as directing and coordinating all activities of the Nutrition Services department in addition to our Lexington Medical Center Extended Care facility, a 388 bed nursing home and separate Alzheimer’s Care facility. Additionally, the Director provides direct oversight and coordination of hospital dietitian services as well as the design and execution of organizational special functions.

The Director of Nutrition Services is responsible for planning, budgeting, directing and coordinating all activities of the Nutrition Services department for Lexington Medical Center as well as Lexington Extended Care. The Director is responsible for the quality of operations as measured by internal and external metrics, including regulatory agencies, patient and employee satisfaction results, staff turnover and other morale metrics. The Director must prepare, recommend and achieve capital and operating budgetary outcomes while ensuring the services continually meet the needs of the organization. The Director is responsible for the patient kitchens, public cafeterias, doctors' lounge, catering kitchen, meal preparation and delivery to the child care center, and the atrium coffee kiosk. Provides oversight and coordination of hospital dietitian services as well as the design and execution of organizational special functions. This is a 365 day a year, nearly 24x7 operation spanning multiple campuses.
Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality, Institutional Food Service Management or related discipline.
Minimum Years of Experience: 5 Years of hospital or healthcare system food service management experience in a significant departmental leadership capacity overseeing an operation comparable in size, budget and complexity to LMC.
Substitutable Education & Experience: Bachelor's Degree & 5 Years of Healthcare Food Service Management experience can be substituted for one of the following;
Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree in Hospitality, Institutional Food Service Management or related discipline & 7 years of experience in a significant departmental leadership capacity in institutional food service management. 3 years must be hospital or healthcare system focused;
Required Certifications/Licensure: Serve Safe Certification.
Required Training: Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities in MS Office Suite (i.e. Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.), budgeting, and statistical reporting with demonstrated competence in key performance monitoring and process management.
